Senior Data Scientist
We started Super.com to help maximize lives—both the lives of our customers and the lives of our team—so that everyone can experience all that life has to offer. For our employees, our promise is that Super.com is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to unlock one’s potential, where learning is celebrated and impact is realized. We are more than a fast-paced, high-growth tech company; we care about our people and take career progression seriously. This is your career and our aim is to supercharge it through the people, the work, and the programs that fuel who we are.
About the role
Our data scientists are embedded team members, working alongside product managers, software engineers, and designers in our mission-aligned team (MAT) model. This allows our team members to gain deep experience and context into specific business problems and verticals, growing quickly to become subject matter experts. This position offers a dynamic and impactful opportunity to assume ownership of your work as you conduct in-depth analyses and productionize your work.
This role is part of our Analytics & Data Science team. Being data-driven is a core value of Super.com, and this team plays a huge part in this. We are long-time advocates and users of Snowflake, DBT, and Amplitude. This isn’t a place where we are convincing the business of the value of data or just using these tools for the first time. We have maturity in our technical practices, launch a new experiment every day, and are looking for teammates to roll up their sleeves and do high-quality data work.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of statistical and machine learning solutions that drive high-impact, data-driven decisions across the business
- Own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end, from framing the question to deploying and monitoring the solution in production
- Investigate trends, patterns, and anomalies at depth; diagnose root causes and surface opportunities that shape product and business strategy
- Architect data pipelines to access, clean, and transform large, raw datasets, and establish reusable patterns others can build on
- Design, implement, and monitor business rules for cash flow underwriting and repayment workflows
- Partner with product, engineering, and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into data science roadmaps and influence decisions at the leadership level
- Proactively identify the highest-leverage problems worth solving, and build or scope the right solution rather than the obvious one
- Design and run rigorous experimentation programs (A/B and beyond) to test hypotheses, measure product changes, and quantify business impact
- Develop, prototype, validate, and productionize machine learning models and algorithms, balancing accuracy against latency, cost, and maintainability
- Communicate technical findings and model results to senior and non-technical stakeholders through clear visualizations, writeups, and recommendations
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data science roles, with a track record of shipping models that delivered measurable business impact
- Demonstrated ability to own projects independently and lead others through technical ambiguity
- Experience taking models to production and maintaining them (deployment, monitoring, retraining)
- A technical degree in data science, computer science, analytics, or AI, or equivalent applied experience building and evaluating production models
- Strong SQL, including the ability to build clean, performant transformations, ideally with DBT
- Expert programming skills with fluency in the ML stack: sklearn, pandas, numpy, and a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Previous experience in fintech and lending
