Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and support to colleagues (including ones on other teams) who may require it.
• Provide training and support for other data scientists on global teams to prioritize and develop improvements to the RMS.
• Utilize extensive scientific and technical knowledge of YODA to provide a level of escalated support for users in cases that cannot be handled within the brand data science teams.
• Acquire a deep understanding of the business to be able to work out a compromise of the science recommendations and business constraints.
• Apply your technical knowledge and experience to undertake difficult troubleshooting of science elements of YODA to determine the cause of anomalous results and identify areas for improvements.
• Drive improvements through data-driven projects by collaborating with key senior staff across brands as directed on topics of interest to key stakeholders.
• Use insights garnered from analytical studies to influence decision making and promote data science within the data science community of the corporation.
• Stay up to date with latest technologies and tools within the field of data science, revenue management, and Artificial Intelligence.

Requirements

• A masters or other advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, physics, science, engineering, computer science etc.
• Experience in working with non-scientifically trained staff to achieve mutual goals.
• Experience working in teams to identify and solve problems and influence decision making.
• Ability to code at an advanced level in at least one computer programming language such as Python, R, SQL.
