About the role
The Senior Data Scientist will be part of a team rebuilding a platform for a company with an existing audience of 100M+ people. This role involves creating predictive models, experiments, and decision-support analytics that directly impact key business KPIs. The position requires a strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation, with a focus on turning data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Apply advanced statistics, experimentation, and machine learning to solve complex business problems.
- Partner with product, engineering, operations, and business leaders to define and execute analytical strategies.
- Design, build, validate, and maintain statistical and machine learning models.
- Run experimentation, causal analysis, and hypothesis testing to guide real business decisions.
- Communicate complex findings through clear storytelling to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build scalable analytical frameworks and reusable assets, setting high standards for data quality.
- Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, and collaborate with engineering teams to productionize models.
Requirements
- AI-Native: Experience using AI in daily workflow.
- Rigorous Analyst: 6+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, with deep expertise in statistical modeling, experimentation, and machine learning.
- Business-Impact Driven: Influence real business decisions with data and measure success by adoption and outcomes.
- Clear Communicator: Use evidence to challenge assumptions, explain complex ideas, and maintain a high bar for rigor and reproducibility.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Economics).
- Experience deploying ML models to production environments.
- Experience with cloud-based analytics and ML platforms.
- Experience mentoring data scientists or leading cross-functional initiatives.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and experimentation.
- Strong proficiency in Python or R.
- Experience with SQL.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
