About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
  • Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Create dynamic data reports.
  • Plan internal and external engagements, including meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Aid in the development of briefing material and drafting documents in accordance with Navy Correspondence Manual guidelines.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and execute data calls to gather inputs from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consolidate and communicate information from data calls to government leadership for further action.
  • Evaluate operational deficiencies, recommend improvements, and coordinate their implementation.
  • Transcribe and summarize meeting minutes and notes and assist in the preparation and closure of action items.
  • Assist in the scheduling of appointments in support of Government customer, the coordination of arrangements for meetings and conferences, and the arrangement of travel reservations and accommodations.
  • Attend meetings and program reviews, assist with compiling presentations, written materials, and/or electronic communications as required.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or MBC’s clients.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience providing data analytics support to U.S. Navy program offices.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, science, engineering, or related field from an institution accredited in the United States.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally using a credit card or prepaid debit card as required by MBC and/or clients.

Schedule

  • Travel domestically and internationally, provide in-person support at MBC and client sites, and obtain and maintain professional certifications and security clearances as required by MBC and/or clients.

  • Salary ranges displayed are typical for this position, but MBC considers multiple factors when extending an offer. Factors include the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's qualifications, and the contractual terms of the program.
