About the role
The Fraud Risk & Control Detection Team is seeking a Data Scientist to contribute to their innovative model development for fraud detection.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with data scientists, data engineers, technical leads, and product managers to bring game-changing models to production.
- Build data science applications from inception to production.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including data scientists, software engineers, data engineers, and product managers.
- Present and communicate key findings and project progress to senior business leaders.
Requirements
- MS in data science, statistics, or similar quantitative field with 4+ years of practical experience.
- PhD in data science, statistics, or similar quantitative field with 2+ years of practical experience.
- Hands-on expertise in data extraction, cleaning, and preparation; feature extraction; model training and evaluation.
- Proven experience building analytics that deliver useful insights from large datasets.
- Proven track record of delivering production machine learning tools that solve business problems.
Skills
- Excellent programming skills in Python and Pandas.
- Familiarity with Sagemaker and PyCharm.
- Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in standard machine learning approaches, statistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and deep learning techniques.
- Bonus points for building production ML model containers at scale (Docker, SageMaker, Flask, Aerospike).
- Bonus points for dashboarding capabilities (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker).

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $97,000-185,000 USD per year. Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
Schedule
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model: Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
