You will use advanced analytics to solve complex problems across the client's entire value chain, partnering with Strategy & Innovation, R&D, Manufacturing, Finance and Commercial teams.This role suits a curious, creative problem-solver who turns data into tangible business value. The work focuses on four strategic priorities:Pipeline acceleration: speed up the search for and approval of high-impact products, with a focus on speed, cost and precisionManufacturing excellence: improve the efficiency, quality and consistency of core manufacturing processes, including execution and equipment effectivenessSales effectiveness: make relevant customer insights easier to find, trust and use, driving sales growth and engagementProductivity: grow operating margin by systematically reducing operating expenses across the business Key responsibilities End-to-end model development: design, develop and validate statistical and machine learning models, from initial data exploration to final analysisAnalytical thought leadership: analyze large, complex data sets to solve business problems, including operations research methods to optimize decisions and processesCross-functional problem solving: translate business challenges into data science frameworks, for example:Strategy & Innovation: market and competitor analysisR&D: drug discovery, target identification, clinical trial analysis and drug repurposingManufacturing: supply chain optimization, predictive quality control and predictive maintenance to improve yieldsFinance: financial, margin and profitability analysisCommercial: sales forecasting, pricing and promotion optimization, personalized marketing, customer behavior analysis and insights surfaced through large language modelsActionable insights: interpret results, synthesize findings and give clear recommendations to stakeholders at all levelsData storytelling: present complex findings as clear, compelling narratives using data visualizationDeployment: partner with Data, AI and ML Engineers to integrate models into business processes and applicationsInnovation: research and apply new methods in machine learning, statistics and AIData-driven culture: educate and mentor colleagues on data science principles and best practices Required qualifications Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or Operations Research12+ years of experience in data science or related workStrong programming skills in Python or R, with expertise in data manipulation and machine learning librariesDeep understanding of statistics and experimental design, including hypothesis testing, regression and classificationProven use of a range of ML techniques (e.g. gradient boosting, clustering, NLP, time-series forecasting) on real-world problemsExpertise with visualization tools and the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiencesAuthorized to work in the United States Nice to have Finance domain experience: financial data, forecasting, budgeting, profitability and business performance analyticsBusiness acumen: quick to grasp business challenges and connect insights to strategic goals; experience in pharma, life sciences, manufacturing or commercial analytics is a major plusLife sciences industry knowledge: business model, regulatory and compliance requirements, risks and rewardsStrong SQL for querying relational databasesExperience with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data and analytics services Why Augmented Augmented is an AI-native engineering delivery hub serving large enterprises in Life Sciences and Fintech, with teams in Toronto and the US.Lead high-impact data science across R&D, manufacturing, finance and commercial functionsWork alongside senior teams with direct access to business leadersExposure to AI-native delivery practices and modern tooling How to apply Don't meet every requirement?
