About the role
We are seeking a Data Scientist to join the Experiment team at Amplitude. You will be part of a dynamic team of product managers, engineers, and designers dedicated to helping modern businesses transform their products through data and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of advanced statistical methodologies and tools for causal effects modeling, heterogeneous treatment effects analysis, and time series modeling.
- Work on projects involving social network effects, Bayesian hypothesis testing, and B2B experimentation.
- Implement machine learning and data mining algorithms on distributed platforms to solve real-world product analytics and user behavior modeling problems.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to design and execute experiments that improve product performance and user experience.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform decision-making processes.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders, including executive leadership, to ensure alignment and adoption of data-driven strategies.
Requirements
- A master's or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field with extensive research/project experience in data science, experimentation, digital product optimization, math, statistics, etc.
- Built and extensively used data pipelines in a variety of data warehouse environments.
- Proficiency with Python and SQL.
- In-depth experience with Spark/Hadoop.
- 2+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist in the past, with hands-on experience using experimentation products.
- Comfortable communicating with customers as a trusted advisor.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $286,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission), depending on location.
