About the role
The Senior Data Quality/Integrity Engineer serves as a subject matter expert in end-to-end master data processes and data flows, leveraging deep technical and business knowledge to design, implement, and continuously improve enterprise master data management (MDM) solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring high standards of data accuracy, integrity, and governance across critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide business process support, system guidance, and data quality governance for master data, ensuring efficient processes and consistent data flows across systems, business units, and stakeholders.
- Cook up and integrate master data across platforms to maintain alignment, accuracy, and reliability.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues related to master data management and supporting systems.
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and quality of master data processes.
- Define, monitor, and evaluate master data management metrics to assess data quality performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement solutions to strengthen data integrity, quality, and availability across the enterprise.
- Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to business users on master data processes, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to and begin influencing departmental strategy related to data quality, governance, and master data management.
- Make informed decisions on moderately complex to complex technical and process-related issues, selecting appropriate approaches for project components.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, exercising judgment and considerable latitude in defining objectives, priorities, and execution strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing SQL, including development, optimization, and scalable query design for large and complex datasets.
- Deep technical understanding of data architecture, data quality frameworks, and supporting technologies, along with established data quality management principles.
- Experience with data quality, analytics, and reporting tools such as Power BI, including the ability to apply appropriate techniques for data profiling, validation, and monitoring.
- Comprehensive understanding of how data supports corporate strategy, integrates with business processes, and drives business outcomes and decision-making.
- Past experience communicating complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to senior and executive leadership.
- Demonstrated passion for contributing to a culture focused on continuous improvement of consumer or customer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Business.
- Technical experience in data reporting, analytics, and/or business intelligence.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience with data programming languages such as Python or PySpark for data processing, analysis, and automation.
- Experience with healthcare data concepts, structures, and regulatory considerations (e.g., provider data such as credentialing, contracting, network, and provider demographic data).
Work-At-Home Requirements
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
- Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
