Responsibilities
- Architect and implement an enterprise data quality framework including validation rules, acceptance thresholds, exception handling, and escalation workflows across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- Design and deliver source-to-target reconciliation processes and regression test suites to support certification of curated datasets.
- Build automated data validation pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Microsoft Fabric.
- Integrate data quality, lineage, and governance standards into Microsoft Purview for enterprise-wide visibility.
- Create observability solutions to track data health metrics, rule pass/fail rates, reconciliation variance, and exception volumes.
- Establish data quality rule taxonomy (completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness) and maintain as a living standard.
- Define certification and production-readiness processes in collaboration with engineering and business teams.
- Create exception management workflows including triage, ownership, SLAs, and remediation strategies.
- Conduct root cause analysis for systemic data issues and implement preventative controls.
- Partner with stakeholders across data engineering, product, and business teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Participate in a three-phase interview process (two virtual, one onsite).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building or leading data quality frameworks in enterprise data environments.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Pipelines, OneLake) and Azure ecosystem.
- Advanced SQL skills with expertise in data profiling, reconciliation, and anomaly detection.
- Hands-on experience with Python for data validation and quality automation.
- Experience working with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview.
- Background supporting financial systems (loan servicing, GL, portfolio management) strongly preferred.
- Experience with data observability tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda, Deequ, Monte Carlo) is a plus.
- Knowledge of audit controls, compliance, and regulatory data environments (e.g., SOX).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business context.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, agile environments and build scalable processes from the ground up.
Pay
Salary range: $130,000 - $140,000
