Senior Data & Microservices Developer

Active security clearance at the TS/SCI polygraph level is required.

About the role

We have an immediate need for a skilled Database Engineer to help transition legacy, manual security evaluation processes to an automated, continuous monitoring and assessment model. In this role, you will take ownership of database design, development, and information storage across the entire project lifecycle. You will build new data workflows, lead the development of database parser and loading tools, and support Python-based microservices and RESTful endpoints that feed JSON data directly to modern UI front ends.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain database structures and schemas
• Build and optimize data workflows for automated, continuous monitoring
• Develop custom database parser software and automated loading scripts
• Create and maintain data ingestion pipelines
• Develop and test RESTful endpoints and microservices using Python (Django/Flask)
• Design REST APIs that transmit structured JSON data to UI front-end applications
• Analyze existing manual processes and engineer automated database workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, plus 5+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience
• OR High School Diploma / GED, plus 10+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree
• Strong, hands-on experience in database design, structure maintenance, schema optimization, and information storage/retrieval
• Demonstrated experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
• Experience developing custom database parser software, automated loading scripts, and data ingestion pipelines
• Experience developing and testing RESTful endpoints and microservices using Python with Django or Flask frameworks
• Proficiency designing REST APIs that transmit structured data (JSON) to UI front-end applications
• Proven ability to analyze existing manual processes and engineer automated database workflows to replace them

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with automated security authorization, continuous monitoring, and security evaluation frameworks
• Awareness of how backend REST microservices interface with modern JavaScript UI frameworks
• Experience working within an Agile development lifecycle using tracking and documentation tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Pay

The annual base salary range for this role is $135,000–$159,000 (USD), which does not include discretionary bonus compensation. Actual compensation offered may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
