About the role

AAG is hiring a Senior Data Manager in the Norfolk, VA area to support our client. This position follows a hybrid work model, with most work being completed remotely, and meetings at client site as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee data operations, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze and evaluate large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain data management processes and governance policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize the Advanced Analytics (Advana) Tool to conduct data analysis and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA) of 2014 and related federal data standards.
  • Work within the framework of Department of Defense (DoD) policies and directives related to data management and reporting.
  • Maintain documentation for data processes, policies, and reporting workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Five (5) years of experience of professional experience as a Data Manager or;
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience as a Data Manager (Bachelor’s degree not required).
  • Proven experience in analyzing and evaluating large datasets for insights and reporting.
  • Experience with the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA) of 2014 (Preferred).
  • Proficiency with the OUSD(C) Advanced Analytics (Advana) Tool (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) policies and directives (Preferred).
  • Experience in data integration from multiple sources and implementing data governance practices.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in support of client requirements.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Sciences from an accredited college/university (Required, unless meeting experience criteria)
  • Business Analytics, Mathematics or Computer Science (Recommended)

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
  • SQL Certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
