Senior Data Engineer (FedRAMP)

About the role

The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems. They will work closely with data scientists and other engineers to ensure that data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and secure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines using Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Develop and maintain data storage solutions using NoSQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB
• Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models into production environments
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP security standards and best practices
• Optimize data processing workflows to improve performance and reduce latency
• Document and maintain system documentation and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and SQL
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest data engineering trends and technologies

Qualifications

• CISSP certification preferred
• Experience with data governance and compliance processes
• Knowledge of FedRAMP security guidelines and implementation

Skills

• Python, Java, Scala programming languages
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Good understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI

Pay

• $120,000 - $150,000 annually
