About the role
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems. They will work closely with data scientists and other engineers to ensure that data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and secure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines using Apache Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Develop and maintain data storage solutions using NoSQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models into production environments
- Ensure compliance with FedRAMP security standards and best practices
- Optimize data processing workflows to improve performance and reduce latency
- Document and maintain system documentation and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases like Cassandra and MongoDB
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest data engineering trends and technologies
Qualifications
- CISSP certification preferred
- Experience with data governance and compliance processes
- Knowledge of FedRAMP security guidelines and implementation
Skills
- Python, Java, Scala programming languages
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Good understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI

- $120,000 - $150,000 annually
