Senior Data Engineer
About the role
I'm working with a long-established global business operating across payments, secure technology, digital identity and manufacturing. They're modernizing their data environment and are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build the infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting and decision-making across the business. This is a hands-on data engineering role focused on building and modernizing the underlying data platform. You'll have a lot of ownership and will be helping define how the data platform grows, rather than simply maintaining something already fully established.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building ETL / ELT pipelines
- Moving data from ERP, CRM, finance and manufacturing systems into the data warehouse
- Building and maintaining dbt models
- Modernizing legacy data processes and integrations
- Data quality, observability and monitoring
- Pipeline orchestration and CI/CD
- Cloud data infrastructure
- Supporting analytics teams with reliable, well-structured data
Requirements
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Strong SQL
- Strong Python
- Hands-on experience with dbt
- Experience building production-grade ETL / ELT pipelines
- Strong cloud data warehouse experience
- Experience with Azure Data Factory
- Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, ADLS or similar technologies
- CI/CD and software engineering practices applied to data
- Experience with data quality, testing and monitoring
- Confidence owning complex projects from architecture through production
- Experience working with ERP or operational data is a strong plus
- Experience with SAP, Infor, SQL Server or other enterprise systems would also be useful
Location: This is an onsite role in the Greater Boston area, near Dedham, MA. Candidates must already be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
