Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary Our client, a leading entertainment and hospitality company, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their team! This is a 12-month contract opportunity supporting a large-scale enterprise data modernization initiative focused on developing scalable data pipelines, enhancing cloud-based platforms, and leveraging modern AI-assisted development practices. The ideal candidate is a highly technical, hands-on engineer with deep Python and SQL expertise, experience supporting enterprise-scale data environments, and strong collaboration skills. This position is based in Orlando, FL, with local candidates preferred for onsite collaboration in the Celebration area. Remote candidates will also be considered. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. Core ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain large-scale ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQLBuild, automate, and monitor data workflows using Apache Airflow and cloud-based technologiesDevelop scalable data solutions supporting enterprise analytics, business applications, and revenue optimization initiativesProcess and transform large datasets, including billions of records, while ensuring data quality, reliability, and performanceCollaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutionsDevelop and integrate APIs, contribute to data architecture and modeling discussions, and support deployments across multiple environmentsLeverage Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)5+ years of technology experience with advanced, hands-on Python and SQL development expertiseExtensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex ETL/ELT pipelines in large-scale enterprise environmentsHands-on experience with Apache Airflow for data workflow orchestration, scheduling, and monitoringExperience building cloud-based data solutions using AWS or Microsoft AzureExperience processing, transforming, and managing large-scale datasets across enterprise data platformsExperience with API development, data integration, and database or data warehouse designStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to gather requirements and collaborate across technical and business teams Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)Experience with Snowflake for cloud data warehousing and data transformationExperience with Databricks, Apache Spark, or comparable big data technologiesExperience leveraging Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate software developmentFamiliarity with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, or GenAI frameworks such as AWS Bedrock or LangChainExperience supporting enterprise-wide modernization initiatives or large-scale technology transformation projectsExperience with GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps deployment practicesFamiliarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or containerized cloud environments Key Competencies & BehaviorsStrong analytical thinking and technical problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutionsCollaborative, personable approach with strong stakeholder relationship-building skillsAbility to take ownership and deliver scalable solutions in fast-paced, cross-functional environmentsAdaptability and enthusiasm for modern development tools and emerging technologies Work EnvironmentLocation: Orlando, FL preferredWork Arrangement: Onsite collaboration in the Celebration, FL area for local candidates; remote candidates will be consideredContract Duration: 12 months Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $56.00 and $80.00 per hour.
