Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and integration processes.
- Build scalable data solutions supporting reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
- Design and implement data warehouse, data lake, and lakehouse architectures.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes.
- Implement data quality controls, metadata management, and governance standards.
- Support cloud-based and hybrid data platforms.
- Collaborate with analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish engineering best practices.
Education and Licensure
- Bachelor's degree in data science, business, and/or similar related field.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.
- Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related disciplines.
- Advanced SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data engineering tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and quality management.
Preferred Qualifications and Location Details
- Master’s Degree in related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Denodo, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting AI and machine learning initiatives.
- Relevant cloud or data engineering certifications.
- Experience leading modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with federal reporting.

Onsite position – Oak Ridge, TN at UCOR office.
