Summary Of This Role We’re seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable data solutions across cloud and legacy platforms. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with SQL, DBT, Snowflake, Python, and Spark, along with familiarity integrating AWS services, IBM DataStage, and mainframe data—including copybooks. Job Description Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflowsBuild and optimize DBT models and Snowflake workloads, with attention to performance, data quality, and costDevelop data-processing applications and automation using Python and Apache SparkIntegrate data from cloud, relational, and mainframe systems, including files defined by COBOL copybooksSupport and modernize existing IBM DataStage workflows while enabling migration to cloud-based platformsApply software engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and technical documentationCollaborate with product, analytics, architecture, and operations teams to translate requirements into dependable data solutionsTroubleshoot production issues and improve pipeline reliability, observability, and operational support What Are We Looking for in This Role? Required Qualifications Significant professional software engineering or data engineering 5+ years of experienceStrong SQL skills, including query development, optimization, and data modelingHands-on experience with DBT and SnowflakeProficiency in Python and experience building data-processing solutions with Apache SparkExperience with AWS data services and cloud-based application or pipeline deploymentKnowledge of IBM DataStage and enterprise data integration patternsFamiliarity with mainframe data formats and the ability to interpret COBOL copybooksStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills Preferred QualificationsExperience modernizing legacy data platforms or migrating workloads to the cloudKnowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data governanceExperience with orchestration, monitoring, and automated data-quality testingFamiliarity with Agile delivery and CI/CD practicesGood understanding of data lake concepts, ETL patterns, data modeling, distributed data processingExperience developing and supporting production data pipelines What We Offer You~ A career at FIS is more than just a job.
