About the Role

Network Connex is a world-class organization operating in advanced technological environments globally. As a Communications Technician II, you will support the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of mission-critical structured cabling systems within data center environments. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and adherence to company and client safety, quality, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Safe Work Practices that conform with the Company’s Safety Program and client worksite policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Install and decommission critical cabling and network infrastructure in a Data Center environment.
  • Exhibit a high level of Safety and Quality on all work.
  • Follow all Safety, Quality, and Production standards, codes, and industry best practices.
  • Read, comprehend, and adhere to project design drawings, specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and installation standards.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of Structured Cabling System installation and commissioning.
  • Proactively maintain work area organization and good housekeeping.
  • Organize materials, tools, and equipment, collect debris, and ensure hazardous conditions are promptly and appropriately addressed.
  • Maintain compliance with customers’ Safety, Quality, Security, and Site Access policies and requirements.

  • Ability to execute assigned project work with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required.

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 3 to 5 years of structured cabling or telecommunications experience preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred; must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Fiber Optic Association certifications preferred.
  • BICSI Technical certifications preferred.

Schedule

This position is on-site daily with minimal overnight travel (approximately 50%) expected. The individual should be able and willing to travel as required by Network Connex.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is primarily indoors, though outdoor work is occasionally required. The noise level is usually moderate. Duties require:

  • Regularly sitting, using hands, stooping, kneeling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, or hearing.
  • Frequently standing and walking.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally working from heights and in tight, confined spaces.
