About the role
We’re seeking a talented Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge data architectures supporting our industrial IoT initiatives. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact on environmental sustainability while working with a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the architecture for cloud-based data solutions, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Lead technical discussions, collaborate across teams, and champion best practices in data architecture.
- Provide expert guidance and explain complex data solutions to leadership and engineering teams.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into innovative technical solutions.
- Optimize data usage by analyzing customer data, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing improvements.
- Mentor engineers on data architecture, participate in code and design reviews, and promote technical excellence.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data tier architecture, from design to development.
- 5+ years as a data architect with deep knowledge of enterprise data architecture concepts.
- Extensive experience in cloud environments, particularly Azure, with at least 5 years leading data solution architecture.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server or similar relational databases.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as key-value, document, graph, or column store.
- Strong background in data warehouse, data lake, and lake house design.
- Skilled in designing and maintaining data pipelines, especially with high-speed telematics data.
- Expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Knowledge of partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Passionate about data quality, reliability, privacy, and microservice architecture.
Nice to Have Skills
- Infrastructure as code experience, preferably with Terraform.
- Programming skills in Python, PowerShell, or T-SQL.
- Support for AI/ML projects.
- Familiarity with data governance and privacy regulations.
Pay
Colorado: $150,000–$160,000 salary or $65–$80/hour W2
Wisconsin: $130,000–$150,000 salary or $60–$70/hour W2
