About the Role
The Senior Data Analytics Developer will lead the development and use of data, technology, and reporting tools to help make informed decisions for the Office of Administration Units. This role oversees the collection, organization, and analysis of operational, financial, and administrative information, turning complex data into clear insights that improve performance, identify trends, manage risk, and support strategic planning.
The Senior Data Analytics Developer should possess excellent leadership skills with a strong background in data analytics, technology, and process improvement and have a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams, solve complex problems, and communicate technical information in a way that is meaningful to executives and other stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, and a track record of improving efficiency, streamlining operations, and delivering measurable results in complex, highly regulated environments. This role is 100% on-site and is not eligible for remote work.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, enterprise software engineering, data analytics platform development, ETL/data warehousing, and/or business intelligence systems.
- At least 3-5 years in a formal supervisory, project lead, or technical leadership role managing multi-person teams.
- Demonstrated expertise building and modernizing production-grade applications and data pipelines using Python, SQL, Java/C#, modern web frameworks (e.g., Django, React, .NET), and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Proven leadership of Agile teams and CI/CD delivery of complex data/software systems, with documented results in performance optimization, processing-time reduction, and operational efficiency gains.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate sophisticated technical solutions and large-scale data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical senior leaders.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organization-wide data, systems, and process-automation initiatives in high-stakes, regulated, or compliance-sensitive environments (e.g., law enforcement, healthcare, government, or critical infrastructure).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced graduate education, such as a Ph.D. or an additional master’s degree.
- Professional certification or advanced training in digital forensics, cybersecurity, or a related investigative or technical discipline.
- Demonstrated success in delivering measurable improvements in application performance, data-processing speed, reporting capabilities, or team operational efficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and modern DevOps practices supporting the reliable delivery of analytics systems.
- Experience leading technical teams, including mentoring software engineers and data professionals, managing performance, and implementing process improvements.
- Hands-on experience developing or supporting systems used for financial or operational modeling, budgeting, forecasting, or administrative decision-making through custom development, ETL processes, and analytics platforms.
- Experience integrating Tableau or Power BI (preferred but not required when comparable custom solutions have been delivered).
- Demonstrated technical innovation and success modernizing legacy systems while maintaining operational reliability and compliance requirements.
