Position Summary
The Senior Data Analyst at Walmart supports business decision-making through advanced data analysis and visualization. What you'll do
- Identify and assess appropriate data sources aligned with business requirements and service level agreements.
- Perform initial data quality checks and manage ongoing data quality improvements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions using advanced analytics and statistical techniques.
- Develop and deliver clear, insightful data visualizations tailored to stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with business strategy and operational goals.
- Support data governance by promoting standards, policies, and best practices across data management processes.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methods and tools.

What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in data analysis with strong knowledge of SQL, GCP, and distributed data stores.
- Experience with/Openness to using AI tools to create visualizations and agentic workflows to simplify day-to-day operations.
- Proficiency in data quality management, including profiling, cleansing, and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions aligned with organizational strategy.
- Expertise in exploratory data analysis using statistical techniques and relevant tools such as Python and Excel.
- Understanding of data governance, storage, scalability, and enterprise data architecture principles.
- Strong business acumen across multiple domains including finance, marketing, and technology.

Minimum Qualifications
- Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
- Option 2: Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Option 3: 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field, Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Related industry experience (for example, retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce).
- Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (for example, SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau).
