About the role

The Senior Data Analyst will deliver high-impact analysis that empowers the Revenue, Marketing, and Finance teams at Sanity.io to make confident, data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Revenue, Marketing, and Finance stakeholders to understand business needs, define analytical requirements, and deliver insights that drive decision-making across the organization.
  • Own the development and maintenance of dashboards and self-service analytics that give stakeholders clear, trusted visibility into business performance.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across datasets.
  • Define and maintain key metrics and business logic in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on a single source of truth.
  • Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, influencing strategic decisions with data-backed recommendations.
  • Manage a mix of ad-hoc and planned analytical work, balancing competing priorities while maintaining clear communication on timelines and progress.
  • Continuously push the quality of analytical workflows, data models, and reporting standards, contributing to a culture of rigor and excellence within the broader Data & Analytics organization.

Requirements

  • Based in San Francisco, the team comes into the SF office 2-3 times a week.
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a highly analytical role such as strategic consulting or investment banking, with deep exposure to Marketing, Revenue, or Finance data.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling, with a proven ability to derive insights from complex datasets and translate them into compelling visualizations and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with semantic layer BI tools (e.g., Omni, Looker) and modern data stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Google Big Query).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, driving analytical work end-to-end from problem framing through implementation and iteration.
  • Solid grasp of data modeling principles, including the ability to define metrics, enforce business logic, and contribute meaningfully to how data is structured upstream.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences and influence strategic decisions with data-backed recommendations.
  • Prominent ability to navigate competing stakeholder priorities, drive alignment across functions, and engage effectively in cross-functional environments.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Experience with cloud-based data storage solutions like AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative project management.

Pay

Salary Range: $180k - $195k annually. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.

Schedule

Remote work is available, with the team meeting in San Francisco 2-3 times a week.
