About the role
This is a hybrid Onsite role working in either our Charlotte, NC or Norfolk, VA office.
Responsibilities
- Liaison with internal stakeholders and partners in the organization, conducting an analysis to identify the impact of process changes in areas of opportunity for segmentation improvements and process changes.
- Formulates and presents strategy changes, impact analysis, and testing results to peers and leadership.
- Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for business process improvement.
- Affirms current practices, collects information and analyzes industry trends to help determine operational objectives.
- Experience analyzing and identifying problems: Pinpoint business bottlenecks (e.g., high customer churn, inefficient supply chain routes, or low sales conversion rates) using exploratory data analysis and then making recommendations for process changes.
- Will have experience with perform Root Cause Analysis: Dig into historical data and process workflows to understand why the problem is happening rather than just looking at the symptoms.
- Prior expertise with quantify the Impact: Calculate the cost of the current inefficiency and recommend solutions: Propose specific, data-backed operational changes, such as automating a specific workflow, adjusting pricing strategies, or reallocating marketing spend.
- A/B Testing & Measurement: Design pilot programs or A/B tests to measure the impact of the proposed changes before rolling them out company wide.
- Proficient at developing and maintaining reporting packages through visualization tools (Power BI or R shiny preferred).
- Able to write complex join, union, pivot, common table expression query statements for complex data calculations using time window functions in SQL.
- Familiarity with computerized modeling and how to utilize models in data sets.
- Assesses current practices, collects information and analyzes industry trends to help determine operational objectives.
- Able to diagnose and resolve complex data quality issues or other business problems.
- Intermediate-level experience in business analysis using data analytic tools.
- Conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills utilizing Excel or other statistical packages to analyze data for potential solutions.
- Strong PowerPoint skills as well as formal presentation skills.
- Monitors and maintains performance on strategic decision points for activities managed by strategy.
- Conducts analysis to identify the impact of process changes in areas of opportunity for segmentation improvements and process changes.
- Contribute to the Company's analytical development to keep pushing the boundaries in modelling, predictive analytics and business insights.
- Oversight of Policy and Procedure documentation along with change management and testing documentation as required.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of at least one area of strategy.
- Liaison as the SME to other stakeholders and partners in the organization.
- Identify issues and process improvement opportunities and work with other areas of the business to analysis, report and resolve discrepancies (including taking ownership of actions/projects where appropriate).
- Partners with compliance to ensure processes are aligned with regulatory and risk mitigation criteria.
Requirements
- 6-8+ years of business analysis experience, preferably in financial services, legal recovery or collections.

Qualifications

- BA/BS degree, preferably in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or another field.
