About the Opportunity
The Senior Data Analyst role is focused on delivering accurate, timely reporting and data analysis to support various business functions such as Accounting, Treasury, and Sales. This position contributes by developing and automating data reporting processes, enhancing data quality, and ensuring reporting efficiency, thereby enabling informed decision-making and operational improvements across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, high-impact reporting and data deliveries to key corporate business partners, including Accounting, Treasury, and Sales divisions
- Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business and technical requirements for new and enhanced reporting structures
- Develop, test, and implement robust SQL queries, SSIS packages, SSRS layouts, and interactive Power BI solutions aligned with stakeholder needs
- Test, validate, and optimize data reporting processes to guarantee absolute data accuracy and high query performance
- Automate complex report generation and delivery pipelines to maximize operational efficiency and reduce manual processing effort
- Implement and monitor automated job scheduling workflows for data imports extracted from flat files, Excel sheets, and cross-platform databases
- Identify, prototype, and implement systematic improvements in reporting infrastructures and coordinate routine database software upgrades
- Enhance internal data controls, compliance architectures, and financial audits specifically related to partner commission payments
- Perform rigorous data validation and structural quality checks across all active production reports and underlying datasets
- Maintain database system performance through active query tuning, index restructuring, and long-term data archiving strategies
- Collaborate directly with IT infrastructure and security engineering teams to patch and remediate database vulnerabilities
- Author, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation covering report logic, data dictionaries, and core business rules
- Support and thrive within structured telecommuting and remote work arrangements from anywhere within the United States
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative field
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate professional experience operating as a Data Analyst or in a highly related data-engineering occupation
- Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, including expert-level application of multi-table joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and window functions
- Expert-level Excel capabilities, including advanced formulas, nested logical functions, pivot tables, Power Query data mashups, and VBA automation scripts
- Direct hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), including complex report layout design, parameter configuration, and automated subscription delivery
- Proven knowledge of integrating Power BI dashboard environments with SQL Server backends for automated corporate data visualization
- Demonstrated experience scheduling, managing, and maintaining enterprise-level business reports utilizing Visual Studio developer environments
- Technical proficiency with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to design, build, and deploy reliable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data workflows
- Praactical ability to import and export massive datasets efficiently utilizing BCP command-line utilities, BULK INSERT statements, and linked server configurations
- Solid professional experience processing and parsing structured data from flat files, Excel workbooks, and modern web APIs
- Strong documentation skills with an ability to clearly map out and preserve complex report logic, underlying data sources, and strict business definitions
- Sharp skills in database query optimization, analyzing execution plans, adjusting index tuning configurations, and managing database statistics
- Proven capability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database deadlocks and query blocking issues
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Target baseline salary framework: $142,230.00 to $177,408.00 USD annually
Final salary placement within this structured tier is calibrated dynamically based on the candidate's technical data modeling depth, platform tuning experience, and specialized background evaluation
