Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
About the role
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Child Mind Institute will report to the Director of Information Security. This position is part of the IT team and requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office, on a schedule determined by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
Implement security requirements and risk management: Define and document cybersecurity requirements for networks, systems, and applications, ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Framework.
Vulnerability Management & Threat Response: Conduct regular security scans, monitor IDS/third-party alerts, and respond to threats by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.
Security Architecture & Implementation: Collaborate with designing and deploying security controls, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise security solutions to protect systems, applications, and data.
Incident Response & Threat Hunting: Support with security investigations, execute incident response procedures, and develop threat hunting methodologies.
Security Tool Management & Optimization: Manage vulnerability scanning tools and integrate findings into security operations.
Drive security initiatives that enhance organizational resilience and eliminate cyber threats.
Policy & Documentation: Develop and maintain security policies, SOPs, playbooks, and work instructions to support consistent and effective security practices.
Collaboration & Expertise: Work closely with system engineers, security leadership, and management to strengthen cybersecurity across the enterprise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology (or a related field)
- 5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licenses or technical certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA, CCSP, CISA, CEH, etc.
- Familiarity with MS Office, Google Workspace, or relevant software

Pay
The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role).
