About the role

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Child Mind Institute will report to the Director of Information Security. This position is part of the IT team and requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office, on a schedule determined by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Implement security requirements and risk management: Define and document cybersecurity requirements for networks, systems, and applications, ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Framework.

  • Vulnerability Management & Threat Response: Conduct regular security scans, monitor IDS/third-party alerts, and respond to threats by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities.

  • Security Architecture & Implementation: Collaborate with designing and deploying security controls, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise security solutions to protect systems, applications, and data.

  • Incident Response & Threat Hunting: Support with security investigations, execute incident response procedures, and develop threat hunting methodologies.

  • Security Tool Management & Optimization: Manage vulnerability scanning tools and integrate findings into security operations.

  • Drive security initiatives that enhance organizational resilience and eliminate cyber threats.

  • Policy & Documentation: Develop and maintain security policies, SOPs, playbooks, and work instructions to support consistent and effective security practices.

  • Collaboration & Expertise: Work closely with system engineers, security leadership, and management to strengthen cybersecurity across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology (or a related field)
  • 5 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licenses or technical certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA, CCSP, CISA, CEH, etc.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Google Workspace, or relevant software

Pay

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role).
