Senior Custodial Worker
Job Description
The Senior Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of campus facilities. This role assists the Custodial Manager in coordinating cleaning schedules and supervising the day-to-day operations of the Custodial Staff. The Senior Custodial Worker plays a critical role in creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
- Lead and assist in supervising a team of custodial staff.
- Understand and apply modern methods of building clearing, equipment operation, and application of chemical solutions.
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests and special projects promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years experience in the understanding/application of modern methods of building clearing, equipment operation, and application of chemical solutions.
- Certificates in Custodial related fields.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.
Additional Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Target Range
The target range for the position is $17.57 - $20.00 per hour. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Physical Exertion
- Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting (30-60 lbs).
Working Conditions

- Exposure: Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes.
- Risk: Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
