About the role
As a CBRE Data Center Sr. Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and complex corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
- Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
- React to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Ensure third parties and vendors follow compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Accompany vendors on-site visits as needed and ensure site standards are met.
- Verify subcontractor performance meets all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
- Assist staff with complex situations.
- Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to complex HVAC-related client problems.
- Review meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities to ensure accurate information is documented.
- Provide Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting and fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
- Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance at the site.
- Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures.
- Follow all safety processes and requirements and confirm all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
- Operate a permit-to-work system under the company’s health and safety procedures.
- Verify appropriate controls are within the Permit-to-Work systems.
- Ensure compliance with ACOP’s applicable to the maintenance industry procedures.
- Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
- Help create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessment.
- Ensure CERM documents and logbooks are updated.
- Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
- Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Impact the quality of your own work and work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Experience analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills, including calculating percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
Pay
The minimum salary for the Sr Data Center Technician position is $65,000 annually (or $31.25 per hour) and the maximum salary is $85,000 annually (or $40.86 per hour). The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
