Senior Crew Chief

Skill Requirements

• Associates degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering preferred
• 12 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the land surveying or construction industry preferred
• Advanced knowledge of surveying fundamentals and procedures recognized in the region
• Knowledge of modern survey equipment, devices, and methods
• Experience with Trimble, Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors and GPS preferred

Qualifications

• Self-Starter and ability to demonstrate advanced problem solving techniques
• Knowledge of jurisdictional and industry requirements
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment
• Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
• Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat, and professional manner for boundary, topography for design purposes, and construction stakeout projects

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of assigned field team members to acquire survey field data and complete assigned land surveying field projects
• Operate, maintain, and care for survey equipment, data collection, and other geodetic and reality capture equipment
• Transfer files between data collection and internal company project folders
• Perform quality checks and processing of field data; download, maintain, and verify accuracy of project data, reports, and managing database
• Maintain professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
• Oversee and train individuals to operate survey equipment, including total station, GPS, levels and data collectors for use in the collection of field survey data
• Mentor Crew Chiefs as assigned, and work closely with the Office Coordinator on field training and supervision of field team members
• Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures
