Senior Credit Risk Officer

About the role

As a Senior Credit Risk Officer, you are our key support. You will review and approve loans and credit limits with minimal oversight across various commercial banking products, evaluating loan structures to ensure appropriate credit levels up to $20 million. This role focuses on building relationships with integrity, caring, and excellence while verifying that proposed loan packages meet organizational credit standards for completion and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor lending teams, portfolios, and lines of business for credit risk issues, including exception reporting, past dues, loan agreement compliance, trend analysis, and emerging risks.
• Review and approve credit requests, modifications, amendments, and waivers for commercial banking relationships across products such as loans, treasury management, and global trader services.
• Ensure efficient delivery of credit risk to promote an excellent customer experience internally and externally.
• Act as a knowledge source for credit education programs, providing guidance on improving proposed loan packages.
• Take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
• 10+ years of banking experience, with completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent knowledge of credit analysis and secured lending.
• Demonstrated experience managing loan portfolios and approving credit risks through economic cycles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of banking experience with time spent as a relationship manager.
