Senior Credit Analyst – Commercial, Community & Multifamily Lending

About The Role

CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst – Commercial, Community & Multifamily Lending to help grow our Commercial Lending Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Underwriting commercial loan requests for new and existing relationships by analyzing the financial condition utilizing financial statements, tax returns, CPA statements, bank statements, and other necessary documentation
  • Perform cash flow analysis, global cash flow assessments and pro forma forecasting and scaling
  • Full understanding of entity legal ownership structure and providing clear, concise explanation of them
  • Ensure appropriate security instruments are recommended based on risk profile and ownership structure
  • Present recommendation, details and financial analysis to the appropriate authority level
  • Ownership of UCC process (filing, search and notification) to ensure properly perfected
  • Timely communication to stakeholders (Dealer, Manufacturer, Sales and Management) through the process
  • Obtain answers to any questions regarding financials, credit line requests, structure, and other relevant factors
  • Maintain a stakeholder focus throughout the underwriting process, exceeding service level commitments
  • Prepare legal documents and follow up to ensure necessary documentation is received
  • Final review of loan documentation and audit prior to loan funding
  • Periodic account reviews and maintenance
  • Serve as a key contributor in high-exposure or policy-sensitive credit decisions
  • Support the development of junior analysts by sharing knowledge, answering questions, and modeling effective credit analysis techniques
  • Initiate training of new team members, helping them understand tools, processes, and credit policies
  • Proactively support the department supervisor during their absence by helping coordinate daily tasks and maintaining workflow continuity
  • Provide structured feedback and contribute to performance development of junior staff
  • Lead complex credit reviews as a subject matter expert and interface with corporate on credit initiatives
  • Lead underwriting of complex commercial loan structures, including multi-entity and cross-collateralized transactions
  • Evaluate complex borrower and guarantor structures, including multi-entity and layered ownership arrangements
  • Independently present credit recommendations to senior leadership and credit committee
  • Act as a subject matter resource for junior and mid-level analysts, providing guidance on structuring, risk assessment, and documentation
  • Maintain general awareness of borrower performance and escalated risks in partnership with Servicing
  • Carefully coordinate closely with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on complex structures and documentation requirements
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to the development of underwriting tools, templates, and best practices

  • Actively develop and refine credit policy and risk rating models
  • Take ownership of high-profile or time-sensitive credit requests, ensuring timely and accurate execution
  • Proactively identify issues, inefficiencies, or risks and present actionable, well-developed solutions and recommendations to leadership
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve scalability, efficiency, and consistency across underwriting workflows
  • Mentor and coach Analyst I and II team members, providing structured feedback and informal training
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed
  • Underwrite income-producing real estate transactions, including manufactured housing communities (MHC), using Net Operating Income (NOI), DSCR, and LTV-based methodologies
  • Analyze rent rolls, operating statements, and market data to determine stabilized property performance and cash flow
  • Evaluate and normalize operating expenses, including real estate taxes, insurance, management fees, and capital reserve requirements
  • Review and interpret third-party reports, including appraisals (income approach), Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and Property Condition Assessments, identifying risks and structural considerations
  • Apply agency-style underwriting standards, including Fannie Mae (FNMA) multifamily guidelines, in the evaluation of real estate-secured transactions
  • Evaluate complex ownership structures and integrate real estate collateral with broader commercial lending structures
  • Analyze borrower business models that include both inventory financing and real estate assets, ensuring appropriate structuring and risk segmentation. Identify risks associated with income variability, market conditions, and property-level performance, and incorporate appropriate mitigants into credit recommendations
  • Support development and refinement of underwriting standards and credit policy related to multifamily and MHC lending products

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • 5+ years of Commercial manufactured housing floorplan experience in credit, structuring, and financial statement analysis, with demonstrated ability to underwrite complex commercial transactions, OR 7+ years of experience in commercial credit, financial analysis, loan structuring, banking, servicing, project management, or credit methodology development, including direct experience underwriting income-producing or real estate-secured transactions
  • Previous experience in floorplan financing required, with the ability to integrate inventory-based lending with real estate-secured transactions
  • 25–30% of total professional experience in multifamily or commercial real estate underwriting, including income-producing real estate assets
  • Demonstrated experience constructing and analyzing Net Operating Income (NOI) and applying DSCR- and LTV-based loan sizing methodologies
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting third-party reports, including appraisals (income approach), Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and Property Condition Assessments
  • Familiarity with Fannie Mae (FNMA), Freddie Mac, or FHA multifamily underwriting guidelines and the ability to interpret and apply structured agency credit standards
  • Experience evaluating rent rolls, market rents, vacancy assumptions, and stabilized operating expenses preferred
  • Advanced to expert MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
