Salary range: $68,213.00 – $135,000.00

The Office of Criminal Justice seeks a Senior Counsel to provide legal guidance and support to the agency's criminal justice initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law and policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel on criminal justice policies and procedures
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to criminal justice
• Develop and implement strategies to address legal challenges in criminal justice cases
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations
• Represent the agency in legal proceedings and negotiations

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Member in good standing of the New York State Bar Association
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience
• Experience working in criminal justice or related field

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
