Senior Counsel, Employment Law

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Counsel, Employment Law to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will serve as a strategic legal partner to internal stakeholders, helping translate business needs into practical agreements and sound employment law guidance. You will advise on a range of employment and labor matters, support regulatory responses, and collaborate closely with HR and other business functions. The position calls for strong judgment, business acumen, and the ability to navigate multiple legal disciplines while contributing proactively to a fast-moving organization. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $126,599 – $264,502 annually Responsibilities Serve as a legal partner to internal stakeholders, translating business ideas into agreements Advise mid to large size clients on employment and labor law issues, including representation in regulatory actions Draft and review responses to RFPs, MOUs, and employment-related contracts Collaborate with corporate HR departments on legal employment matters Spot legal issues across various disciplines and learn new areas as needed Demonstrate business sensibility and proactive engagement in legal processes Take on additional responsibilities as a specialist in employment law Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Member of a state Bar with in-house counsel capability Minimum 5 years of legal practice, ideally including 2 years in a national law firm or mid to large corporation Experience in drafting and managing commercial contracts Proven advisory experience on employment and labor laws Excellent drafting, negotiating, and analytical skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Benefits Remote work for a flexible work/life balance Comprehensive retirement package with 8-10% annual company contribution Tuition assistance and discounts through a knowledge program Health benefits eligibility starting on day 1 Generous paid time off including holidays, vacation, and community service days Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
