Duty Statement
The Attorney III performs independently and with broad discretion, litigation work. The Attorney III represents the Department in all litigation forums including civil and administrative cases in state and federal courts and before the Office of Administrative Hearings. The Attorney III serves as lead counsel on routine matters, directing a team of attorneys, examiners, and investigators. This role involves analyzing products, developing litigation strategies to determine whether licensing is required, and negotiating compliance through licensure. The Attorney III prepares legal opinions and factual analyses and recommends appropriate enforcement actions.
Minimum Qualifications
- All Attorney Levels: Active membership in The California State Bar.
- Attorney III: Five years of legal experience in the practice of law.
