Senior Cost Analyst

About the role

The Senior Cost Analyst is a full-time, on-site position based in Knoxville, TN, responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and effectively using the organization's cost accounting and decision support systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and effectively use the organization's cost accounting and decision support systems.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for cost accounting methodologies, data integrity, and reporting.
• Ensure accurate and actionable financial information for decision‑making.
• Partner with operational, financial, and technical teams to drive process improvements.
• Support system enhancements.
• Perform complex analyses.
• Provide insights to leadership for the health system.
• Manage multiple priorities.
• Build effective working relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field (required).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (essential).
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Ability to independently take initiative and demonstrate leadership in moving projects forward.
• Healthcare experience working with data from various sources including Cost Accounting, Decision Support, General Ledger, Payroll, Physician Practice, Patient Accounting, and Supply Chain (preferred).
• Experience with Strata (highly preferred).
