Senior Cost Accounting Analyst

Location: Lake Jackson, TX
Salary: $85,500-$129,500
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 2 days remote per week
Relocation Available

Focus: The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst supports manufacturing cost control and site accounting activities for Olin's largest assets.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including:
    • Executing month-end close procedures and journal entries
    • Preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances
    • Supporting physical inventory observations and ensuring accurate inventory accounting
    • Reviewing fixed assets and supporting capitalization/depreciation processes
    • Analyzing results, compiling management reports, and delivering ad hoc financial analyses
    • Coinciding site estimates/forecasts and supporting the annual budgeting process
    • Supporting the annual standard cost-setting process and maintaining standard costing assumptions
  • Maintain compliance with company policy and U.S. GAAP; support SOX/internal control activities (documentation, testing, and remediation as needed)
  • Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audit requests, including timely responses and supporting documentation
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify cost optimization opportunities, quantify impact, and track productivity initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree* in Finance or Accounting; CMA or CPA certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related cost accounting experience and experience performing accounting work in a manufacturing company.
  • Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and SOX/internal controls preferred.
  • Proficiency with an ERP system required; SAP experience preferred.
  • E xcellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
