Emerson is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join their Operations team in Aiken, South Carolina. This role focuses on providing accounting, reporting, and analysis to support inventory management, product cost/profitability, manufacturing productivity, and process efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the company's cost systems for all domestic locations
- Roll and verify standard/current costs for all products
- Review Bill of Material (BOM) and coordinate with plants and departments
- Review and analyze absorption (Material, Labor, Overhead) P&L impact
- Compile Productivity and Efficiency reports for operations and management
- Prepare and analyze excess & obsolete inventory and ensure appropriate handling
- Perform Month End closing processes and journal entries
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts including inventory monthly, quarterly, or annually as required
- Coordinate and oversee physical inventories, including reconciliation and recording
- Complete and analyze Gross Profit and Product mix reports for management
- Maintain the company's transfer pricing files and complete transfer pricing study documents
- Complete various inventory reports on a monthly basis and other reports as required
- Review departmental budget and spend
- Assist in the company’s various Product Line moves and projects
- Oversee Cost Accountants role
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cost accounting or related role
- Demonstrated experience in computerized accounting systems and relevant computer technology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in teams
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
- Domestic and international travel, up to 5%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Hyperion, Smartview, Crystal, BAAN, or Oracle

- Knowledge of how businesses operate and generate revenue
- Ability to acquire and analyze data from multiple sources for problem-solving

Pay
The salary range for this role is $73,600–$105,200 annually, commensurate with skills, experience, and capabilities.
