Required Skills & Abilities Passion for Abridge’s mission and the energy and drive to support fast-moving product and operational teams 5+ years of legal experience, including 3+ years in product counseling. Prior in-house experience at a technology company is a requirement. Working knowledge of privacy and data protection, consumer protection, and intellectual property issues as they apply to technology products Ability to spot issues across a broad range of legal areas, dig into unfamiliar regulatory questions, and know when to bring in specialist expertise Proven ability to communicate and translate complex regulatory and legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal counterparts and colleagues. Comfort and confidence with juggling a high volume of projects, tight timelines, and competing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise business judgement; interest in joining a small team that prioritizes autonomy and trust. Proven ability to work cross-functionally, particularly with technical teams, designers, and commercial teams, building relationships and earning their confidence. Creativity in solving and navigating novel legal matters; experience in crafting new processes and language to meet the needs of a rapidly-moving enterprise in a novel industry. Bonus Points If… Expertise in intellectual property, AI, or software and technology transactions (e.g., licensing, open source) Familiarity with recent trends in AI, particularly with large language models and responsible AI principles Prior experience at a growth-stage, AI-native, or healthcare technology company Strong understanding of and experience with federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA and state health privacy laws Experience with healthcare regulatory matters, including FDA, FTC, fraud, waste, and abuse laws, health data interoperability and information blocking rules, and related state laws This role is in San Francisco or New York City.
