Senior Corporate Counsel

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team in New York as a Corporate Counsel, where you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting EquiLend’s dynamic and evolving global operations. Our Legal function is a trusted partner to the business, ensuring the organization operates with integrity, efficiency, and a forward-thinking legal strategy. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, this role involves collaborating with a global Legal and Compliance team to deliver consistent, high-quality legal support across regions including the UK, US, and Asia.

You may at times be under significant time pressure and must be able to manage multiple priorities across many parts of the organization, such as Sales, Product, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as dedicated legal counsel on complex financial SaaS/data technology-related sales contract drafting and negotiations.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Sales organization to support all aspects of the sales effort.
• Support emerging technologies and associated legal considerations, including Gen AI and data innovations.
• Train and collaborate with the Legal Specialist team and RevOps legal support team on sales operational improvements and lead knowledge management practices regarding sales contract templates and standards.
• Partner with global teams across Sales, Product, Finance, and other internal groups to deliver consistent, high-quality legal support.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, with a strong preference for experience in software/SaaS/data/technology subscription agreements.
• Experience in fintech or financial services is a plus, but not required.
• Qualified attorney with an active license to practice law in Ireland.
• Demonstrates strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with a clear ability to translate business needs into practical legal solutions.
• Shows good knowledge of intellectual property, contract law, and preferably information security and data privacy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to partner effectively with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Comfortable working autonomously but collaboratively, making decisions in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Displays sound judgment, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
