JOB TITLE: Senior Corporate Accountant Job Summary This is a role that will carry out day-to-day corporate accounting matters, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis, and help develop and automate processes and controls for the company. JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Education, And Physical Requirements) Bachelor of Accounting degree preferred; CPA and Big4 a strong plus3-5 years or more relevant work experience needed, including full cycle closeDetail oriented with strong organization skills, strong in both written and verbal communicationProficiency in MS Excel & other MS Office products, Yardi experience a strong plusReal estate accounting experience a strong plus (preferably residential real estate)Ability to read and understand legal contracts, residential leases and other contractsExcellent analytical skills requiredIn-person work required for first 90 days, after which 1-2 days/week maximum remote work is available based on performance. Occasional travel required for Company-wide meetings. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Major Responsibilities Of The Job) Perform monthly/quarterly/annual close procedures, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and corporate consolidationReview & reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, and resolve discrepancies timelyPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (in accordance with GAAP)Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of management, investor & other ad-hoc reportingMonitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide explanations for variancesUtilize technology, systems & software to streamline processes and enhance efficiencyRecalculate interest expense on debt & ensure timely payments, and prepare debt compliance reportingCommunicate with external auditors, prepare & provide audit schedules and support, respond to audit inquiries, and assist in the resolution of audit findingsResearch technical accounting guidance as needed Compensation & Benefits Salary and bonus dependent on experienceMedical (company funded), Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) plan including company matchDiscretionary Time Off and Company HolidaysCell phone & fitness reimbursements, and discounted rent at a Quinn community
