About the Role

As an engineer on the Strategic Customer Engineering team, you will play a critical role in aligning technical details across various service teams, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving end-to-end execution of complex projects. This role involves designing, coordinating, and executing technical solutions that significantly impact customer experience and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud technologies, excellent communication skills, and a history of leading large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cloud infrastructure solutions are designed and built with scalability in mind.
  • Partner with development teams to architect, design, and implement solutions within a distributed computing environment.
  • Lead initiatives across engineering, operations, and leadership with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering leadership and OCI engineering leadership to ensure customer success.
  • Take ownership of problems and identify solutions, documenting potential issues impacting customers.
  • Work with engineering teams to design infrastructure components such as cloud resources, distributed computing systems, and data storage solutions.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure performance, scalability, and reliability issues, implementing solutions to mitigate risks and minimize downtime.
  • Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure maintainability.

Qualifications

  • 4–8+ years of distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment.
  • Development experience in Java/C++/C# and scripting languages.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools for managing distributed systems.
  • Strong Linux skills with hands-on experience in Oracle Linux/RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, and Debian distributions, including system administration, package management, shell scripting, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with cloud platform teams and accommodating requirements from compute, networking, storage, and identity teams.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Experience documenting infrastructure designs, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Pay

Hiring Range in USD: $79,200 - $209,500 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
