Responsibilities
- Manage patients' authorizations for the medical care they receive
- Research and re-submit denials from the billing department
- Verify patients’ benefits information including deductibles and co-insurance
- Collect time of service payments prior to treatment or set up payment plans
- Auxiliary front desk duties such as check-in, check-out, answering phones, scheduling appointments
- Pull medical records to ensure patients have required labs, tests, imaging, or other provider needs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced medical office setting, highly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- 3-6 years of experience, preferred
- Experience accessing and updating an EMR system, preferred
