Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cover Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Cook up day-to-day facility operations for all areas of the Spring Training complex, including ballparks, practice fields, clubhouses, offices, concourses, and support spaces.
- Implement and track preventive maintenance programs for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, irrigation, etc.).
- Respond to and prioritize maintenance requests and work orders to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct regular facility inspections and report deficiencies or safety concerns.
- Cover Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
- Schedule, access, and oversee vendor work to ensure compliance with contracts, safety policies, and timelines.
- Review invoices and work completion for accuracy and quality.
- Monitor vendor performance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs), safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Escalate performance issues and assist in corrective actions.
- Cover Event & Spring Training Support
- Support facility readiness for Spring Training games, workouts, and special events.
- Aid in event conversions, setup, breakdown, and post-event inspections.
- Collaborate with baseball operations, grounds, events, and security teams to meet operational needs.
- Provide on-site operational support during games and events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Cover Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and fire safety standards.
- Support safety training, inspections, and documentation.
- Monitor life-safety systems and emergency response readiness.
- Cover Administrative & Reporting
- Track work orders, maintenance logs, and asset inventories using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Aid in budget tracking, purchasing, and inventory control for facility supplies and equipment.
- Prepare reports related to maintenance activity, vendor performance, and facility conditions.
- Demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving operational issues efficiently and proactively.
- Support the development of asset hierarchy, preventive maintenance strategies, and equipment lifecycle tracking within the CMMS.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in facilities management, operations, construction management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in facilities operations, stadium/arena operations, or a comparable environment.
- Working knowledge of building systems and general maintenance practices.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, material-handling equipment, forklifts, and general manual labor.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience working in a sports, entertainment, or large public venue environment.
- Familiarity with CMMS platforms and work order systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and facility compliance standards.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- BAS (Building Automation Systems)
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
