Senior Cook - Universal Horror Unleashed

Universal Horror Unleashed is a year-round horror experience in Las Vegas, offering a unique working environment with dark settings, special effects (strobe lights, fog, artificial smells), and late-night/weekend/holiday hours.

About the role

Prepares and cooks food for a multi-unit operation. May lead Line Cooks during service under the Sous Chef’s direction. Assists with ordering, receiving, and inventory processes, and trains new team members in food preparation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Performs Cook duties at all kitchen stations to meet Universal Standards.
• Monitors Line Cooks to ensure compliance with food safety practices.
• Handles Line Cook tasks, including opening/closing procedures, guest interactions, allergen awareness, and station cleanliness.
• Ensures compliance with Nevada’s HACCP program and ServSafe certification.
• Trains new team members on food safety and venue standards.
• Assists the Sous Chef in managing workflow, prioritizing tasks, and optimizing preparation time.
• Supports ordering, receiving, inventory tracking, spoilage accounting, and daily temperature logs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Line Cook experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate late evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• SNHD Health card and any required certifications/licenses (e.g., Work Card).
• Consistent attendance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Chef’s Apprentice certification preferred.
