About the role
Field-based: Work is conducted on-site at customer locations. The technician will be based out of and work almost entirely in Altus.
Responsibilities
- Commission, program, set up graphics, establish communications links, perform end-to-end testing, troubleshoot, and service assigned projects.
- Document point-to-point verification, sequence-of-operations validation, and job close-out requirements.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location.
- Coordinate with team leaders and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements by examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
- Enforce safety standards, maintain security, and track company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
- Demonstrate team effort and dedication to customer service by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as business needs require, including occasional overnight stays.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion from an accredited technical school is required.
- Typically requires at least 7 years of experience in HVAC/Controls; technical school or formal training is preferred.
- Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld devices (e.g., Smartphone, iPad).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations (e.g., DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving) or multiple smaller infractions/preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
- Previous experience with DDC controls systems is preferred.
- This is a Safety Sensitive role, which may require passing additional drug screening.
Pay
Hourly Base Pay Range: $19.97 - $59.91. Compensation is tailored to factors such as seniority, merit, geographic location, education, experience, travel requirements, and union designation.
