Senior Controls Engineer (PLC, HMI & Automation) | One year contract | Warren, MI

Our client, a leading global automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer (PLC, HMI & Automation) to join their team. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Automation & Controls Engineering team supporting plant operations, automation integration, and production system improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a hands-on troubleshooting mindset that will align successfully within the organization. Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer (PLC, HMI & Automation) Location: Warren, MI Pay Range: $50.14 - $57.31 per hour What's the Job? Design and develop electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control system schematics for manufacturing equipment. Program, configure, and support PLC and HMI software for automated production systems. Design electrical control panels and integrate automation hardware, including servo drive systems. Troubleshoot, debug, test, and support the startup and commissioning of control systems. Provide technical support to installation teams, maintenance personnel, and plant operations as required. What's Needed? Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field. 5-7 years of experience in Controls Engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial automation systems. Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical controls design, including wiring diagrams and control panels.
