About the Role
CEC Controls is seeking controls engineers to perform end-to-end design of controls systems, including troubleshooting, field startup, and commissioning for the automotive and manufacturing industries.
Responsibilities
- Perform design of automation control systems:
- Review specifications and standard practices
- Establish non-standard designs as required
- Follow internal and customer standards
- Create system map layouts, sequence of operations, drawings packages, PLC logic, and HMI screens
- Specify panel and field material by creating Electrical Bill of Materials (EBMs)
- Field duties:
- Assist in installation oversight
- Startup and debug at customer facilities
- Provide launch and standby support
Requirements
- Education: Relevant bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or technology, or equivalent work experience with a technical degree
- 5+ years of industry experience working for a systems integrator, including control panel and circuit design
- Experience with non-standard designs, system map layouts, sequence of operations, cycle time studies, and dimension switch layouts
- Proficiency in creating design packages, logic, and Smart Displays
- Knowledge of system architecture, including non-standard material, control panel power requirements, and distribution
- Ability to review specifications and standard practices (internal hardwired/logic standards, general specifications, and scope of work)

- RSView Studio
- Technical knowledge desired:
- Ford NextGen or GVOSS standards
- GM G12 standards
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to assist with installation and debugging with minimal support
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship from CEC Controls
Physical Requirements
- Able to climb a 2-story ladder
- Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
- Able to cover reasonable distances on foot at a job site
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs without difficulty
- Capable of performing all duties while carrying a laptop computer
