Position Summary

The Senior Contracts Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting commercial and U.S. Government contracts throughout the contract lifecycle to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, minimize contractual risk, and support Aerothreads' business objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Review commercial and government solicitations, contracts, task orders, modifications, and related contractual documents for accuracy, compliance, and risk.
  • Analyze and interpret FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, and contract clauses, providing guidance on contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Review, interpret, and recommend revisions to contract terms and conditions to minimize contractual risk and protect company interests.
  • Serve as the primary reviewer for contract modifications, pricing modifications, and proposal modifications within delegated approval authority.
  • Monitor contract compliance throughout the contract lifecycle and ensure contractual obligations, reporting requirements, deliverables, and key milestones are met.
  • Review funding modifications, contract changes, and pricing actions for contractual and financial compliance.
  • Prepare, review, coordinate, and maintain Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements, subcontract agreements, and other contractual documents.
  • Identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions that support business objectives while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable government regulations.
  • Maintain contract deliverable schedules and monitor key contractual dates, including option periods, modifications, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain customer and supplier portals, registrations, and certifications to support contractual compliance.
  • Maintain accurate contract records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files in accordance with company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining organized and complete contractual documentation.
  • Review customer purchase orders, contract awards, and modifications to ensure consistency with negotiated terms and identify discrepancies prior to acceptance.
  • Maintain awareness of changes to FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Business Development by reviewing commercial and government contractual requirements, solicitation instructions, proposal documentation, and contract modifications during proposal development.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to interpret contract requirements, manage contractual changes, and resolve contract administration issues.
  • Work closely with Finance to review pricing modifications, funding actions, contract values, and other contract-related financial matters.
  • Review and provide contractual guidance for proposal efforts, including pre-award activities and proposal modifications prior to submission.
  • Coverage with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers regarding contractual documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Provide contractual guidance and recommendations to leadership regarding contract interpretation, compliance, and risk management.
  • Support contract closeout planning and contractual documentation activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to contract management, compliance, policies, and business processes.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, government customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable government contracting regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, interpret, and analyze commercial and government contracts, contract modifications, solicitations, and contract clauses.
  • Knowledge of the commercial and government contract lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award contract administration.
  • Knowledge of contract compliance requirements and the ability to evaluate contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of common federal contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost-Plus, Time & Materials (T&M), and IDIQ contracts.
  • Ability to review pricing modifications and contract changes with strong financial and analytical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify issues, assess contractual risk, and recommend practical business solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy when reviewing contractual and financial documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex contractual concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Business Development, Program Management, Finance, Executive Leadership, and other cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and independent decision-making while working within established policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and ERP systems, such as Deltek Costpoint, or the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive contractual and proprietary information with professionalism and integrity.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Contracts Management, Legal Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience analyzing and supporting commercial and U.S. Government contracts within the defense, aerospace, or government contracting industry.
  • Experience analyzing and supporting both pre-award and post-award contract activities.
  • Experience reviewing commercial and government contract clauses, terms and conditions, contract modifications, and proposal documentation.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) contracts is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.

Work Location & Travel

This position may be performed on-site at Aerothreads' office or in a hybrid/remote capacity, based on business needs and management approval. Employees working in a hybrid or remote arrangement are expected to travel to the Aerothreads office at least once per calendar quarter for team collaboration, meetings, training, or other business activities. Additional occasional local or domestic travel may be required to support customer meetings, business development activities, training, or other company needs. Employees working remotely are expected to maintain a workspace that supports confidential government contract work and complies with company security requirements.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, communicate verbally and in writing, and use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods. The employee may occasionally move or lift materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
