Senior Content Strategist

We are expanding rapidly as a platform for Digital Operations Management using AI/ML and Automation and growing our adoption by Development, IT, Customer Service, Security, and other teams across the organization. We’re seeking to deliver on that through the PagerDuty Operations Cloud, our platform for automating and accelerating critical work in the modern enterprise.
As part of the Corporate Marketing and Brand team, we need help sharing this vision of operational transformation to existing and new audiences through the power of story. We’re looking for a talented writer and savvy marketer to create, edit, and amplify compelling content about the mandate and opportunity to modernize enterprise operations—and why PagerDuty is the indispensable business partner to help make it happen.
This role is expected to come into our San Francisco office 2 times per week.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Campaigns, Product Marketing, and Communications to align on content themes and topics that deliver on brand awareness and full-funnel campaign goals
- Create and successfully deliver content in a variety of form factors (e.g. blog post, eBook, whitepaper, email, script, etc.) that span our high-level platform narrative to insights about specific use cases and benefits, for multiple products/solutions
- Write copy that doesn't just inform — it sings. Craft headlines, hooks, and lines sharp enough to stop the scroll and stick in someone's head long after they've closed the tab
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with PagerDuty’s network of thought leaders, product experts, and writers, serving as a versatile editor who maintains quality and tone across written and multimedia content assets
- Hold up a high bar for the quality of writing and its visual expression in our deliverables, so that our content is ever more compelling and is a great experience to consume
- Balance left brain and right brain daily: use data, analytics, GEO/AEO tools, etc to understand what's actually working, then apply that insight to make the next piece of content even better
- Proactively identify and seize opportunities to continually make PagerDuty’s content more modern, relevant, and actionable for our audiences
- Use AI as a force multiplier to accelerate content production while keeping a human firmly in the loop on judgment, tone, and quality
- Work with our Content Operations Manager and teams including Brand, Product Marketing, Events, and Campaigns to ensure timely delivery of assignments
- Assist with building and monitoring a clear and simple baseline of metrics for content performance, using insights to continually improve and make our stories more relevant and digestible
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant program or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications/journalism, or similar
- A portfolio of written work for a technology brand(s)
Qualifications
- B2B SaaS experience
- Experience marketing to IT and senior technology buyers at enterprise companies
- Good understanding of technology, B2B companies and curiosity about tech trends
- Experience with technical content, ideally geared towards developers and/or engineers
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with various teams to successfully produce content and delight the customer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Google Suite and proven dexterity with new tool adoption
- A comfort with data and desire to test and learn
- A keen interest in the latest news and developments in technology and business trends
Pay
The base salary range for this position is 114,000 - 191,400 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

This role is expected to come into our San Francisco office 2 times per week.

PagerDuty operates a hybrid work model with offices in 8 major cities: Atlanta, Lisbon, London, San Francisco, Santiago, Sydney, Tokyo, and Toronto. Candidates must reside in an eligible location, which vary by role.
