Senior Content Creator and Editor, Virtual Reali-Tea
About the role
The New York Post is seeking a seasoned, plugged-in Senior Content Creator and Editor to lead daily editorial coverage for its reality TV vertical, Virtual Reali-Tea. This role is for someone who lives and breathes reality TV, shapes coverage, elevates storytelling, and guides junior talent—all while moving at the speed of the internet.
Responsibilities
- Set the editorial agenda for Virtual Reali-Tea, identifying the stories, talent, and moments that should lead coverage daily.
- Guide video-first storytelling (breaking news, exclusives, cultural analysis) to optimize reach, engagement, and shareability.
- Edit and elevate content from junior creators and writers, ensuring sharp, accurate storytelling aligned with Page Six’s unique voice.
- Identify standout angles from interviews by Danny Murphy and Evan Real, overseeing packaging across editorial platforms.
- Maintain a robust editorial calendar (premieres, finales, reunions) and proactively plan coverage.
- Stay ahead of fan conversations, emerging narratives, and viral moments, translating them into timely video-first content.
- Cover red carpets and premieres in the reality TV space to secure news-worthy and entertaining stories.
- Mentor junior staff, refining their instincts for story selection, framing, and voice.
- Ensure editorial output meets high standards for accuracy, speed, SEO, and audience engagement across social and online platforms.
Requirements
- Deep immersion in the reality TV universe across networks and streamers, with an instinctive understanding of talent, story arcs, and fan culture.
- 5+ years of experience producing high-performing content as a creator, writer, and editor with a strong, confident voice.
- Strong editorial instincts and decisiveness in story, angle, and talent selection.
- Ability to maintain quality under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- High attunement to internet culture, identifying breaking, bubbling, and newsworthy trends.
- Comfort juggling multiple priorities.
- Bonus: A network of industry contacts (publicists, talent, production sources).

Schedule

Pay
Base pay range: $90,000 – $100,000. Competitive and flexible compensation may vary based on experience, skills, location, and other factors. Bonus-eligible roles include targets determined by market benchmarks and individual contributions.
