Senior Consulting Actuary

This role supports financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a Legal & Accounting environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial engagements for state Medicaid agencies and public health clients
• Design and oversee encounter data analytics and validate accuracy
• Develop and certify actuarially sound Medicaid managed care capitation rates
• Create risk scoring methodologies for capitation rate adjustments
• Conduct financial analyses for home and community-based services and long-term service programs
• Provide strategic guidance for program design and value-based payment models
• Conduct ad hoc fiscal impact analyses and negotiate rate modifications

Qualifications

• FSA or ASA with active membership in the American Academy of Actuaries (AAA)
• 15+ years of health actuarial experience, including 5+ years with state Medicaid agencies
• Demonstrated leadership ability in managing actuarial teams
• Experience with actuarially sound managed care capitation rates and risk adjustment methods
• Familiarity with CMS review processes and federal regulatory standards
• Expertise in Medicaid and commercial claims data handling
• Strong communication skills with a record of defensible actuarial documentation

Pay

$200,000 – $275,000 annually
