Senior Consultant- Life Insurance

About the Role

The Senior Consultant will advise Life Insurance client executives, both business and IT, and lead teams for digital transformation, process reimagination, platform modernization programs, AI, and internal/external consulting engagements. Applicants should have experience in some of the following Life Insurance areas:

  • Business Products: Life Insurance and Annuities
  • Functional Areas: Distribution, Marketing, New Business, Underwriting, Policy Servicing/Policy Administration, Claims, Regulatory Compliance, Producer Lifecycle (Contracting/Licensing, Compensation, Sales Reporting, etc.)
  • Latest trends in Insurance: AI adoption, data-driven underwriting, digitization of customer journey, operations optimization
  • Digital transformation, modernization, or platform implementation programs across the Life value chain
  • Business operations: problem identification, analysis, and recommendation (current state analysis, root cause analysis, developing insights, identifying solutions, designing future state)
  • Process reimagination, process optimization, change management, design thinking techniques
  • Life Insurance platforms: ALIP, Oracle Policy Admin for L&A, Majesco, Fineos, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship and Development: Regularly interact with clients, including senior-level executives. Communicate effectively and earn client respect.
  • Client Delivery: Deliver high-quality client outputs on time, independently. Seek advice and counsel as needed. Mentor and direct the efforts of others.
  • Consulting Behaviors: Work independently with minimal oversight. Identify and seize opportunities by taking decisive action. Maintain flexibility; adjust schedule, tasks, and priorities as needed. Demonstrate learnability and willingness to step outside comfort zones. Engage in firm and practice building.
  • Core Consulting Skills:
    • Construct simple, complete, and compelling business cases to support recommendations
    • Master facilitation and meeting skills; plan and lead effective meetings; understand decision-making styles and drive decision-making
    • Master basic presentation skills; deliver credible presentations for client work; lead discussions at peer or team lead level
    • Develop focused expertise in a particular horizontal or vertical area

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Life insurer or comparable consulting services
  • Strategic mindset and ability to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to multitask, engage with stakeholders, plan effectively, and consistently achieve operational goals
  • Excellent relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with resources in a global delivery model
  • Experience in Agile and/or hybrid methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • Industry-related certification
  • Creative problem solver

Additional Information

Travel to client sites and for practice work efforts is required as needed.

Pay

For candidates based in CA, WA, NY, IL, MN, or NJ, the estimated annual gross compensation range is $130,000 to $177,000.
